Blasko Signature Bass Overdrive

The Blasko Bass Overdrive pedal is meant to be as versatile as Blasko himself. In the course of an evening onstage with Ozzy, Blasko will need to cover a wide range of styles from tender ballads to hard charging metal anthems. This pedal performs perfectly in such an eclectic set list.

The unit comes equipped with a Baxandall EQ system for ultimate tone shaping capabilities and sits in the pocket of low to medium-high gain; at low settings you’ll be pleased to feel its vintage amp like response and tone, while at high gain settings you’ll get some spicy gain heating up your signal, sending it into a modern metal/industrial realm. Pushing the ‘Treble’ and ‘Bass’ controls will give you a more scooped mid-range and add additional grit to your signal. Additionally, the unit can be powered anywhere from 9-18volts. At higher voltage you’ll get increased clarity, more output, and an overall edgier tone.

Here is a quick clip of Black Sabbaths classic “Sweet Leaf” with the bass recorded through the Blasko to illustrate how it sounds in context of the songs it was designed to play. NOTE: Blasko did not perform on this recording.

The details:

  • Gain, Treble, Bass, and Volume controls

  • True Hardwire Bypass for noise free operation
  • Stomp switch built to withstand years of hard stomping shows

  • Proudly built by hand in the USA

Way to go, Dennis and Blasko! This is exactly what I was looking for in a bass overdrive. It's super versatile from a warm, subtle amp-like drive and response to full-on break up where the pitch is still audible. The tone of my bass still comes through and even at low settings there is a nice harmonic series that gives my sound a character without changing its color. ProTone's description above is really dead-on and YES, it is totally worth the money invested. BTW, for those who are not hip to who Blasko is, check him out. He is the REAL DEAL; a total monster player who lays it down like a freight train, very present without being overbearing. Thanks guys!!
